A man lured a child into an abandoned building.

A pack of monkeys was called heroes after the animals stopped an attempt to sexually assault a six-year-old girl.

Daily writes about this Star.

According to local reports in India, the squad intervened after the girl was lured to an abandoned building in Baghpat. A man who was hiding from the police stripped her of her clothes and attempted to rape her. But it was at that moment that a “troop of monkeys rushed aggressively towards him”, forcing him to flee the scene.

Talking to local media, the girl's father said, “My daughter was playing outside when the accused took her away. The man could be seen in CCTV footage walking along a narrow path with my daughter. His identity is yet to be ascertained. He also threatened my child that he would kill me – my daughter would have been dead by now if the monkeys had not intervened.”

For his part, Baghpat police spokesperson Harish Bhadoria told Times Of India, “We have heard about the incident involving monkeys and are investigating the matter. Following a complaint from the parents, an FIR has been registered under Sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force on woman with intent to insult her modesty), 76 (assault or use of criminal force against a woman with the intent to undress her) and the Child Protection from Sexual Offences Act. Other sections will be added if necessary. We are trying to identify and nab the accused.”

A citywide manhunt is currently underway for the culprits, with many on social media calling the group of monkeys “heroes” and “saviors.”

The town of Baghpat is located on the outskirts of Delhi and has a population of around 50,000, according to the last census conducted in 2011.

Recall that in India a tiger attacked a man who stopped to urinate. Luckily, he survived.
