Australian treasure hunter Leigh Webber found a stolen safe with collectible coins in the Amsterdam canal. It is reported by the Newsweek edition.
Webber made the find when he checked the bottom with a magnet. He managed to find a place where at least 46 safes were under water. One of them turned out to be so large that the treasure hunter had to hire a crane to lift it.
“In the end, with a lot of effort, we cracked it,” Webber told Tiktok. “To our surprise, it turned out to be full of coins.” Some had protective covers that coin collectors use. Judging by the inscription Hortus Bonaticus 1682-1982 Amsterdam, these were commemorative coins issued for the anniversary of the Amsterdam Botanical Garden. The treasure hunter contacted the police and found out that they were kidnapped more than 20 years ago.
Earlier it was reported that a treasure was found during construction in the Indian village of Pembarty, Telingana state. The locals had to reassure the owner of the land, whose vessel with gold, silver and precious stones caused hysterical laughter.
