Ukrainian embassy in Sweden called on Swedish journalist of Iraqi origin Elaf Ali to apologize to Ukrainian refugee women for her “joke” in one of the latest humorous programs “IFS – invandrare för svenskar” on the national channel SVT.
This is stated in message on the Facebook page of the Ambassador of Ukraine to Sweden Andrey Plahotniuc.
“We consider such statements deeply offensive and absolutely unacceptable, given the circumstances of the full-scale Russian military aggression against Ukraine, which forced Ukrainian women to save their lives and the lives of their children abroad,” the message says.
As reported by Visegrád 24, Elaf Ali stated that Ukrainian women are blonde and have blue eyes, so “no one will notice their presence except brothels”.
In addition, the Ukrainian Embassy in Sweden calls on the management of the SVT channel to take the necessary measures to prevent such situations in the future.
