In Ingushetia, during an anthropological expedition, archaeologists found a woman's skull with traces of trepanation. The remains were found in a medieval crypt. Experts highly appreciated the work of medieval surgeons. Anthropologists who work on the expedition said this is the first such find in the region.
We add that the excavations are taking place on the territory of the tower village. The task of archaeologists is to study the medieval population of the foothill and mountainous Ingushetia and establish the similarities or differences between the inhabitants of different gorges. A skull with trepanation was found in the architectural complex Kyakhk, which is located in the Dzheyrakhsky region of Ingushetia.
