Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez said that a series of earthquakes had occurred in the country. He wrote about this on his Twitter account.
According to him, the earthquakes were recorded on Tuesday evening near the city of Granada. Sanchez urged residents to remain calm and follow the instructions of the authorities.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), in turn, notes that the epicenter of the cataclysm was 11 kilometers from Granada. The magnitude of the earthquakes was four points or more. No casualties or damage were reported.
Earlier, a powerful earthquake of magnitude 7 occurred in the South Shetland Islands, which are located between South America and Antarctica. Shocks were recorded at a depth of 40 kilometers.
