A deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation recognized the weakness of Russia and called for a truce with Ukraine.

New signs of a further split appeared in the Russian political environment strategies for war against Ukraine. Oleg Matveychev, a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from the United Russia party, publicly admitted that Russia does not have sufficient forces to seize Kharkov, Zaporozhye and other territories of Ukraine, thereby actually going against Putin.

Journalist Denis Kazansky reported this.

Matveychev stated that attempts to capture these cities would lead to significant losses for the Russian army. He called for a truce with Ukraine, which actually contradicts the position of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, who recently announced his intention to continue the war until the Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions are completely captured.

The deputy went even further and proposed abandoning the idea of a forceful takeover of Ukraine altogether. At the same time, he expressed the opinion that Russia should simply wait until Ukraine “falls apart on its own” and gets to it without a fight.

Moreover, Matveychev actually called supporters of continuing active hostilities “saboteurs and enemies of Russia,” which is actually an indirect criticism of Putin’s policies.

We recall that previously the ex-commander of the Russian Airborne Forces, and now State Duma deputy Vladimir Shamanov, criticized the Russian Ministry of Defense for providing the occupiers with low-quality uniforms.
