There is evidence that the missile was Russian.
Violation of airspace Poland a Russian missile during a massive attack on Ukraine on December 29 could have become a provocation.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with TVN 24 by the head of the Polish National Security Bureau, Jacek Severa.
“I cannot exclude this. (Our) allies also do not exclude this. The Kremlin administration is aware that today, at a very difficult moment in Poland, power is passing to an administration that has not been in power for eight years,” he answered when asked whether the missile incident was a provocation or an accident.
According to him, Warsaw has enough data to confirm that the missile was launched by the Russian army.
“It was visible on our radar stations, and it left Polish territory,” Severa emphasized.
In addition, the politician emphasized, it is difficult to assume that the 40-kilometer breakthrough from the border was accidental, because the type of trajectory greatly violates the country’s airspace.
Russian missile in Poland
The Polish command of the armed forces reported that an unknown object flew into the country's airspace during a massive attack on Ukraine on December 29, 2023. He was watched by air defense forces until the signal was lost. After this, President Andrzej Duda convened an urgent meeting with the military.
Subsequently it became known that Poland was putting its air defense on high alert. A search operation was carried out. Experts reported that nothing was found that could indicate that something fell on the territory of the Lublin Voivodeship.
Meanwhile, Moscow was outraged by such statements, and now the Kremlin is looking for “excuses.” Chargé d’Affaires of Russia in Poland Andrei Ordash said that the Russian Federation is not going to give an explanation about their rocket – until she is provided with “concrete evidence.”
