Moscow. 26 July. INTERFAX.RU – Employees of the Irkutsk National Research Technical University (IRNITU) presented a robot for automatic welding of non-rotating circular seams at the Russian-Chinese competition “Cup of the Future”, according to the press service of the university.
“The robot welds pre-insulated pipes with a diameter of 273 mm or more and in channels, which is impossible for competitors due to its size,” the message says.
The complex allows you to use up to 4 welding torches at the same time. Taking into account the welding technology, the time for welding large-diameter pipes can be reduced by 10-15 times, the university notes.
In addition, the complex can automatically or at the command of the operator change the angle of inclination and height of the welding torch during the welding process.
IRNITU notes that the price of a robot-welder is, on average, 30% lower than that of analogues.
“Cup of the Future” is a competition where experts consider projects in the field of big-data, intelligent manufacturing and high-tech equipment, biomedicine and medicine, and environmental protection. The total fund of the Future Cup competition is 25.5 million yuan. The final winners will receive 3 million yuan (34.5 million rubles).
