In Ukraine, over the past day, 6,410 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected, which became a record since the beginning of a pandemic in the country. This is evidenced by the data of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
Thus, the total number of COVID-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic in Ukraine has increased to 293,641.
The largest number of new cases was detected in Kiev (598), Odessa region (506), Kharkov region (472), Dnepropetrovsk region (464) and Lviv region (368).
Another 2,194 Ukrainians have recovered in the last 24 hours after undergoing treatment for the infection. A total of 124,113 people recovered.
In addition, 109 people with previously confirmed coronavirus died in the country on October 16, the total number of deaths increased to 5,517.
Earlier, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine said that the country could purchase the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine if approved by the World Health Organization.
