A psychologist named an effective way to cope with addiction to social networks
Psychologist Mikhail Khors called an effective way to cope with addiction to social networks. At the same time, he admitted that it would not be possible to completely abandon the Internet, since it is currently impossible to work without it. He announced this on the air of Radio 1.
According to the specialist, the first step towards getting rid of Internet addiction should be the recognition of the problem. He noted that addicts reacted alarmingly to the malfunctions of social networks and messengers, which were observed for about six hours around the world on October 4. … The specialist called this an abstinence syndrome, which still manifests itself in drug addicts or smokers. The degree of addiction can be determined by a doctor based on the intensity and duration of withdrawal, the psychologist said. At the same time, he believes that it is important to assess the damage caused by the constant presence of the Internet and social networks.
“If two hours a day cause damage, you do not have time to do some important things, for example, walk every day in the fresh air – and this is necessary for mental health, then remove these two hours. And if you cannot remove them, then draw a conclusion how dependent, “Khors said.
The failure of the social network Facebook on October 4 was the most serious and long-lasting since 2008. Problems also affected Instagram, WhatsApp and other popular platforms. The specialists were able to restore the serviceability only after six hours.
Thousands of people around the world have also complained about outages on Twitter, Google and Amazon. Also, difficulties arose with the use of Tinder, TikTok and YouTube. VKontakte users also talked about the problems. Residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod and other cities of Russia faced problems. Also, users reported a failure of the Telegram messenger. The Russians also reported problems with Rostelecom, MGTS, MTS, Megafon, Yota, Tele2 and Beeline.
