An earthquake was recorded for the third time in the past few days off the coast of the Greek island of Crete. This time, however, it was strong and reached a magnitude of 5.2 .

The earthquake reportedly happened at about 7 am local time. According to scientists, the epicenter of the tremors was at a depth of 45 km off the southeastern coast of the island.
The publication reports that the tremors were felt in the eastern and southern parts of the island. It also shook in Heraklion, on the northern coast. Light fluctuations were recorded in some parts of Egypt.
At the same time, on the eve of the earthquake, a few minutes before midnight, light tremors of magnitude 3.4 were recorded near Thessaloniki. There were no reports of destruction or casualties.

Recall, in the north of Italy near the city of Bergamo on Saturday, 18 December, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 was recorded. The tremors were felt throughout Lombardy, including Milan.
