The police clarified that "Z" – this is the first letter of the policeman's surname.
In Austria, at one of the street events, a policeman was seen with a Russian swastika – the letter “Z”. The incident occurred in the capital of the country.
Photos with the policeman began to spread on social networks.
As noted, the letter “Z” was noticed on the policeman’s helmet. This caused outrage among many social media users. Vienna police subsequently responded to the incident.
“Since yesterday, a colleague from the Burgenland response unit, who supported his colleagues in Vienna in protecting various sites during the holidays, has caused concern. The reason: his helmet, which he marked with the letter “Z”, the police commented one of the user messages .
They clarified that Z is the first letter of the surname of the policeman, who thus signed it “for recognition during participation in the operational training course.”
“The colleague did not take into account the symbolism, but, of course, was informed, and the marking was removed. We do not understand the connection made here with Russia,” the Viennese police said.
Recall that Austria criticized Slovakia’s statement on negotiations between Kiev and Moscow.
