A restaurant customer accidentally transferred more, and now they are looking for him.

Staff at the Neua Luan Luan restaurant in Thailand are looking for a customer who accidentally paid 200 thousand baht (approximately 242 thousand hryvnia) for dinner, instead of two thousand baht (2.4 thousand hryvnia).

The Thaiger writes about this.

This happened on November 3, when the honorable visitor paid cashlessly due to a bank transfer. The waiters noticed that the amount on the bill was 100 times more than indicated on the check.

The restaurant administration explained that during large transfers, customers usually have to confirm payment with biometric identification. Probably, the guest, who is used to transferring large amounts, accidentally made a mistake and put it in the wrong place for someone.

After this, the restaurant contacted the bank processing the payment with a request to help find the customer and return the overpaid amount. In a post on Facebook, the establishment asked for help from concerned people in finding the customer.

“We are looking for a customer who had lunch from Neua Luan Luan, Ratchaphruek branch, at 19:50. The customer transferred an excess amount of 2xx, xxx baht,” the post reads.

The actual bill was 2,020.91 baht (US$60), but the customer mistakenly transferred 202,091 baht (US$6,010), probably due to a decimal point error. The restaurant explained that the customer looked like an elderly person and had not yet contacted them to correct the error.

Recall that the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Tax and Customs Policy, Danylo Getmantsev, said that restaurant workers break the law if they do not pay taxes on tips. He noted that although the restaurant business is not yet under the close control of the tax service, the situation will change soon.
