A package of cable channels has become available to Plus subscribers on Kinopoisk, the company's press service told RBC.
“We want Plus subscribers to receive the maximum of interesting content within the subscription, so we added even more TV channels to it, which can now also be viewed in the KinoPoisk application for Smart TV – in the special TV Channels section,” the company said.
In “Kinopoisk” they also explained that today more than 100 thematic TV channels are available to users of the service, selected for “a very different audience.” “These are educational TV channels Discovery channel, My Planet, Nat Geo; TV channels with films and series Kino TV, TV1000, Fox HD, Russian bestseller, Kinokomedy; children – Disney, Mult, STS kids, Cartoon Network; sports Eurosport 1 and 2, Viasat Sport, Football, Box TV, and many others, ”they said.
Kinopoisk belongs to Yandex, which acquired it in 2013 for $ 80 million and spent several years restarting the project, but under pressure from users, it returned the portal to the old version (a library about cinema with news, ratings and information about premieres).
In 2015, an online cinema was launched on the basis of Kinopoisk. According to a study by Deloitte, Kinopoisk ranks second with 34% of the most popular video services in Russia. The ivi cinema became the leader in subscription (42%), Okko is the third (29%). At the same time, 38% of Moscow residents signed up for the Yandex online cinema.
