A new maximum of COVID patients was recorded in Turkey

The Minister of the Ministry of Health of Turkey urged citizens to “get vaccinated and protect themselves.” In the country, 84.56% of the population already have two doses.

On Friday, February 4, 111,157 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Turkey, which is a record increase in infections in the country since the beginning of the pandemic.

This is reported by Anadolu Agency.

It is noted that 468,152 people were tested for SARS-CoV-2 in just one day. Meanwhile, another 248 patients died from complications of the coronavirus โ€“ this is the highest daily rate of infection-related deaths in four months.

84.56% of the adult population of Turkey are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and 92.61% received the first vaccination. In total, 142,735,468 doses of coronavirus vaccine were introduced in the country.

Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koja announced a “large number of deaths” from coronavirus infection.

“Due to the easy spread of the Omicron variant, an increase in the number of cases (of infection. – Ed.) leads to deaths, especially in severe chronic patients and elderly people with chronic diseases,” the head of the Turkish Ministry of Health said.

He called on the country’s citizens to “get vaccinated and protect themselves.”
