Inna Vernikova lived and went to school in Chernivtsi until she was 12, after which she emigrated with her family to the United States.

Inna Vernikov, a 37-year-old native of Chernivtsi, won the elections to the municipal council in New York.

Successful marriage and immigration lawyer Inna Vernikova won the 48th arrondissement to become a New York City Councilor. Inna ran for the Republican MP.

In the last presidential election, she voted for Donald Trump, while New Yorkers support mostly Democrats.

Inna Vernikova lived and went to school in Chernivtsi until she was 12, after which she emigrated with her family to USA.

According to detaly.co.il, Inna Vernikova studied at the 41st school in Chernivtsi, the first comprehensive Jewish school in Ukraine.

After arriving in the United States, Inna studied at Baruch College. At Florida State School, Inna served as president of the Jewish Law Students' Association and persuaded her university to reschedule the traditional graduation ceremony from Saturday to Sunday.

She says she dreamed of becoming a lawyer since childhood.

“Every time I saw some kind of injustice, I had the feeling that I had to fix it,” the newly minted deputy notes.
