In March, the Ministry of Defense signed a contract with a Turkish company for the supply of body armor. However, he was thwarted. In addition, they suspect that the attackers could appropriate half a million dollars.
The contract was for a total of 16 million 656.3 thousand euros. The Ministry of Defense stated that the company violated its obligation.
The contract was broken
Therefore, the Ministry of Defense sent a corresponding claim to the Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Decisions received in favor of the defense department. In addition, they went to court in Turkey – they seized the company's bank accounts and assets.
However, the company also filed similar obligations under a contract with the National Guard of Ukraine. Therefore, the police opened a criminal case on June 13, 2022.
The attackers could have embezzled half a million
The investigation found that three Ukrainians, using offshore companies of the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Bahrain, allegedly embezzled 580 thousand dollars .
Since the contract for the supply of bulletproof vests was signed by an official of the Ministry of Defense, law enforcement officers conducted searches at his house.
