A million people evacuated in Philippines due to approaching typhoon
In the Philippine region of Bicol, an estimated one million people have been displaced to evacuation centers due to the approaching Typhoon Rollie. This is reported by the Inquirer edition with reference to the Philippine Emergency Management Council of the Republic (NDRRMC).
“Nearly one million people have been evacuated in the fifth region (Bicol),” said Ricardo Jalad, head of NDRRMC.

In the province of Albay, 794 thousand people were evacuated, in the province of Kamarines North – 6.6 thousand people, and in the province of Kamarines South – about 200 thousand. At the moment, the evacuation continues in other regions – in Calabarson and Central Luzon.
According to the latest data, Typhoon Rollie is located 370 kilometers northeast of Virac municipality in the Bicol region. Typhoon moves southwest at a speed of about 25 km / h. The maximum wind speed is already 215 km / h. Rollie is expected to reach the Philippines on November 1st.
