A man who took hostages at an IFI detained in Tbilisi

The one who took hostages in the building of the microfinance organization on Akaki Tsereteli Avenue in Tbilisi was detained, the Georgian Interior Ministry reports.

“All the hostages were released, the attacker was detained,” the Imedinews portal reports the words of the head of the Georgian patrol police Vazha Siradze.

Earlier, the Ministry of Internal Affairs on its website reported that an armed man took hostages at the office of a microfinance organization (MFO) on Akaki Tsereteli Avenue. As reported by the Rustavi 2 TV channel, the invader demanded to ban gambling in the country, lower the interest rate on bank loans to 7%, as well as raise pensions or lower prices for medicines.

According to the TV channel, first the man released four hostages from the seized building, and then two more. With him three more remained hostages. All captured were MFO employees.
