A tragedy occurred on the platform at the terminal at Amsterdam Airport – a man was dragged into the engine of a plane that was supposed to fly to Denmark.
At Schipgol Airport in Amsterdam, a man was dragged into the engine of a KLM Cityhopper passenger plane. Unfortunately, the incident turned out to be fatal.
This is reported by the BBC.
The fatal incident occurred on May 29 as an Embraer E190 aircraft was preparing to take off. It was scheduled to operate flight KL1341 to Billund in Denmark.
Judging by footage published by the Dutch public broadcaster NOS, this happened on the platform at the terminal. Photos from the scene show fire trucks near the plane and emergency workers.
The Royal Dutch Military Police, which is responsible for security at the airport, said passengers were removed from the plane and authorities began an investigation.
The identity of the deceased person has not yet been established. They wrote on social networks that it could have been a ground service worker, but sources from the Algemeen Dagblad (AD) reported that this information was untrue, and the person ended up near the engine by accident.
According to the Flightradar24 service, flight KL1341 was carried out by a different aircraft, it took off six hours late and landed in Billund at 21:23.
As AD writes, the flight was carried out by a reserve crew. Upon arrival in Denmark, the passengers were provided with psychological assistance.
Recall that a volcanic eruption began in Iceland on the Reykjanes Peninsula. Magma emissions began near the city of Grindavik, where about 3,000 people live.
