A man was detained in France on suspicion of involvement in the attack in Nice
In France, a 47-year-old man was arrested, who is suspected of having contact with the attacker of the Notre Dame Nice church the day before, BFMTV reports.
On Thursday, when Muslims celebrated the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad, an unknown person attacked people in a church with a knife. As a result of the attack, three people were killed and several others were injured. According to local media reports, the attacker was repeating “Allahu Akbar”. Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi and French President Emmanuel Macron called the incident a terrorist attack.
On the same day, there were other incidents directed against the French. Thus, in Avignon, an Islamist shouting “Allahu Akbar” attacked the police and shot him. In Jeddah, a Saudi national attacked a French consulate guard. The attacker has been detained. In addition, Muslims tore the French flag from the French embassy in Nicosia.
