A man in France has pleaded guilty to allowing dozens of strangers to rape his wife.

The husband claimed that he loved his wife very much, but the judges had a different opinion.

71-year-old Frenchman Dominique Pelicot, accused of drugging his wife and organizing violence against her for more than 10 years, admitted his guilt.

This was reported by BBC News Ukraine.

In his testimony, Peliko claims that he is indeed guilty of rape, and that his actions are nothing less than a “crime.”

Peliko noted: “I am a rapist, like everyone else in this room,” referring to himself and the 50 other defendants. He added that his actions were justified due to his personal problems and childhood trauma, including the advances of a nurse he experienced at the age of nine. Peliko admitted that he filmed the rape of his wife partly for “pleasure” but also for “insurance” so that if necessary he would have evidence against those involved in the crimes.

Despite admitting his crimes, he insists that he loved his wife and that his actions were the result of his personal problems. He said: “I loved her incredibly and I still love her.” However, his love and anger do not diminish the seriousness of the charges, and the case is now being heard in a court open to the public.

Recall that the first interactive map has appeared in Ukraine, showing all the institutions and organizations that can help victims of domestic violence. The map provides detailed information on available resources and support for survivors, including shelters, counseling, and legal assistance.
