Hundreds of German police officers have carried out a major operation against the Chechen and Arab clans in Germany. This is stated in a statement by the police posted on Twitter.

More than 22 locations in Berlin were raided: police were investigating arms and drug trafficking, investigating the tax office and the case of clashes between people of Arab and Chechen descent.

Investigators have issued more than 20 search warrants in connection with organized drug and arms trafficking. As a result of the raids, two people were detained.

Deutsche Welle writes that the police were investigating the “Remmo clan”, an Arab family known for its links to organized crime. It is believed that the members of this group are associated with major heists of museums in Berlin and Dresden.

In early February, 28 searches were carried out in Belgium at Chechens belonging to a charitable organization suspected of collecting money for banned terrorist organizations, including the Caucasus Emirate. As a result of the searches, the police did not issue a single arrest warrant.
