SBU officers neutralized a criminal group in Vinnitsa that was involved in racketeering of local farmers, demanding the so-called tribute.
Among those detained are a deputy of the Vinnytsia district council, who was elected from the banned party OPZZH , and two of his accomplices, employees of the Municipal Guard of the city council.
According to the investigation, the gang of racketeers was led by a local crime boss.

All gang members were detained at their places of residence in Vinnitsa.
During searches of the deputy’s house, they found firearms and ammunition, and his accomplices found cash and rough notes about “debtors.”
All four detainees were informed of suspicion under Part 4 of Art. 189 of the Criminal Code (extortion committed by an organized group under martial law). Criminals face up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
