A French warship was attacked by drones from Yemen – what is known

by alex

France said its warship was attacked by drones.

France said one of its warships in the Red Sea was attacked by drones. The French Ministry of Defense did not specify who exactly fired on the ship, but indicated that the drones arrived from Yemen. Both drones were intercepted and shot down.

The Associated Press and Reuters write about this.

The frigate Languedoc, carrying out a mission for the French Navy in the Red Sea, suffered an attack.

As the French Ministry of Defense stated, the drones “flew straight into the ship” – one after another, with an interval of two hours. This happened approximately 110 kilometers from the Yemeni port of Al Hodeidah in the Red Sea.

Meanwhile, Yemen's Houthi movement has said it will attack all ships heading to Israel, regardless of country of origin. The Houthis have warned all international shipping companies against operating at Israeli ports.

Recall that On December 3, an American warship and several commercial vessels were attacked in the Red Sea. Later, Houthi militants in Yemen announced attacks on two ships they believed were associated with Israel, but did not admit that the target was a US Navy ship.
