A five-star camp to train space tourists to open in the United States

Space tourism is expected to grow rapidly over the next few years. Many companies (Blue Origin, Virgin Galactic, SpaceX, etc.) are already preparing their own proposals in this area. But there were also those who decided to approach the issue from the other side.

So, the American company Orbite intends to open the world's first five-star space camp, writes TechCrunch. In it, future “orbital tourists” will be prepared for flight. For this, aeronautics and five-star service will be combined.

Brienne Rommes will lead the space tourist training program. She previously served as Director of the National Center for Aerospace Training and Research. Considering that she has 600 people trained for space flights behind her, the choice in her favor can hardly be called sudden.

It is reported that the cost of training one person at the Orbite camp will be $ 29.5 thousand (2.2 million rubles). It is worth noting that at the same time, a flight on the Crew Dragon, along with several days of rest on the ISS, will cost about $ 59 million.

The opening of the first training center is scheduled for 2023 and 2024.
