In Uzbekistan, a farmer found the remains of a giant that lived millions of years ago while digging a hole for a greenhouse. This was reported by the website of the editorial offices of the newspapers Yangi Uzbekiston and Pravda Vostoka.
On Saturday, March 13, a resident of the village of Koratepa Ubaydullaev Najmiddin in the Namangan district of the Namangan region discovered the bones of a mysterious animal at his site. He came across the remains at a depth of about a meter.
The farmer's relatives reported the find to the Namangan State Historical and Cultural Museum. Museum staff, an archaeologist of the Department of Archeology of Namangan State University and an associate professor-biologist went to the excavation site.
Experts suggest that the remains belong to Indricotherium – the tallest and heaviest land mammal ever to exist. These creatures, also known as giant rhinos, reached five meters at the withers and weighed up to 17 tons. Indricotherium lived on Earth 20-30 million years ago. Their remains are found in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, China, India and Pakistan.
Earlier it was reported that in the UK, a four-year-old girl found a dinosaur footprint on the beach. It is assumed that he was left by a “slender animal” that walked on two hind legs and actively hunted other small animals and insects.
