In 121 out of 308 municipalities in Portugal, from Monday, November 9, they will restrict movement in connection with the introduction of a state of emergency due to coronavirus infection.

“In connection with the state of emergency declared on November 6, 2020 by the President of the Republic, which will enter into force at 00:00 local time on November 9, the Council of Ministers has determined a ban on movement in public places from 23:00 to 05:00 from Monday to Friday and the next two weekends from 13:00, “- said in a statement on the government website.

At the same time, movement is allowed if it is necessary to visit the workplace, return home, walk pets or an emergency.

Earlier, Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo di Sousa called on parliament to declare a state of emergency in the country due to COVID-19.

Since November 4, most of Portugal has been quarantined.
