KEMEROVO, August 3. / TASS /. Kuzbass State Technical University initiated the creation of a research and production consortium for the environmental and digital development of the coal industry, which, in addition to the university itself, included research institutes of the Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Irkutsk regions together with the large diversified holding Siberian Business Union and Sber. This was announced to TASS on Tuesday by the acting rector of the university, Alexei Yakovlev.
“Our university is located in Kuzbass, the Russian and world center of coal mining, and it was no coincidence that it initiated the creation of the Ecology and Mining consortium. It will allow us to form a new brand of the coal industry – modern, safe, environmentally friendly, with the global implementation of digital“ deserted ”technologies. of all parties interested in the implementation of breakthrough scientific fundamental and applied research and development in the field of creating high technologies for efficient and safe mining, enrichment and deep processing of coal will, in turn, ensure their effective implementation into the economy of the federal, sectoral and regional levels “, – said Yakovlev.
Within the framework of the consortium, it is planned to carry out scientific developments and research in the field of creating high technologies for efficient and safe mining, deep processing of coal, reclamation of disturbed coal mining lands, digitalization, and the introduction of space technologies in subsoil use. In addition, new educational programs will be created to train specialists in demand in the coal industry. The consortium also included the Federal Research Center for Coal and Coal Chemistry SB RAS, Siberian Federal Scientific Center for Agrobiotechnology RAS, Institute of Petroleum Chemistry SB RAS, Institute of the Earth's Crust SB RAS.
“The key tasks of the consortium will also be the development of methods and technologies for the production of carbon sorbents from fossil coals, the purification of gas emissions from the thermal power complex, coke-chemical and metallurgical enterprises, as well as the creation of technologies to reduce the concentration of carcinogens in the products of coal and coal dust processing, growth stimulants in agriculture. and reclamation of disturbed lands “, – added in the press service of the university.
More than half of Russian coal is mined in Kuzbass and more than 150 mines, open-pit mines and coal preparation plants operate. Over the past three years, the coal companies of the Kemerovo Region have begun to actively revise their approaches to coal mining, taking into account the interests of the region and its inhabitants – more attention is paid to the safety of mining operations, minimization of environmental harm, and effective land restoration.
