“A clear signal to Putin”: what do Biden and his team’s statements about the war in Ukraine say?

by alex

If Putin succeeds in Ukraine, he will move on and we will have to pay not with money, but with blood.

The Kremlin should have understood the United States' signal long ago. The meeting between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping was another confirmation of the intentions of the American leader and his team.

This opinion was expressed on the Freedom TV channel by journalist and political figure Andrei Piontkovsky.

Biden's address to the nation and the Putin-Hamas analogy

“The response to the threat in the Middle East by President Biden and his team, particularly Antony Blinken and Lloyd Austin, has been brilliant. But I want to emphasize something else – something that struck me. We are talking about Biden's address to the nation on October 9. “Glory to Ukraine” was mentioned more often than Israel,” says Piontkovsky.

He added that Biden throughout his speech drew an analogy between Putin and Hamas: “Hamas and Iran want to destroy Israel, Putin wants to destroy Ukraine, and the United States will never allow this. Then Blinken and Austin repeated this 20 times. They will not allow tyrants, criminals, bandits – this is how Putin personally characterized himself in an official statement – to do this.”

Israel and Ukraine – two fronts of a single world war

This is such a clear vision of the Fourth World War, as it is called, the expert says. He noted that Israel and Ukraine are two fronts of a single world war, in which tyrants and bandits challenged the civilized world. And this is the position of official America.

This is a very important result for Ukraine. This is the position of the White House,” commented Piontkovsky.

According to him, Israel is fully supported by the Republicans, and regarding Ukraine there is a “group of Trumpian crazy people” with anti-Ukrainian sentiments.

Position of the new Trumpist speaker

“But it's a minority of Republicans. New Speaker Mike Johnson is a “Trumpist,” but he doesn’t share Trump’s Ukrainian concerns. He clearly stated, repeating our formula, that assistance to the United States of Ukraine is not charity, but a contribution to American security. After all, if Putin achieves success in Ukraine, he will go further and we will have to pay not with money, but with blood,” the politician noted.

This position, he said, is quite broad in the United States.

Position of the left and influence on the press

“By the way, the left wing of the Democratic Party is sharply opposed to him (Mike Johnson – Ed.). It is not very represented in Congress, its strength lies elsewhere – they completely dominate the so-called quality American press. The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Hill, Time, Newsweek are now completely working against Israel, broadcasting the point of view of Hamas, and against Ukraine,” Piontkovsky emphasized.

He noted that these publications repeat the narrative that the West is tired of Ukraine, abandoned it, and is thinking about how to put pressure on Ukraine and convince it to negotiate.

“This motive has now been picked up by the Russian propaganda machine. Skabeeva no longer needs any manuals; they spend hours reading articles from the left-wing American press and showing footage from Ukrainian TV channels where such theories are discussed,” says the expert.

“But I want to note that the American leadership, on the contrary, has a very tough determination regarding two fronts – Israel and Ukraine. They are still supported here,” he noted.

Progress in the provision of weapons to Ukraine

Over the past month, says Piontkovsky, there has been progress in the provision of weapons: “The last two taboos that the Americans imposed on themselves have been finally abandoned. Long-range ATACMS missiles have been transferred, the transfer of F-16 aircraft is approaching, a political decision has been made a long time ago. There was information from the Ukrainian and American press that the first planes with pilots were already on the territory of Ukraine.”

“We are expecting to receive significant quantities of both F-16 aircraft and long-range missiles. Even those missiles that are already in Ukraine make it possible to reach any point in Crimea. And we are already seeing this. Crimea has become a very vulnerable region. The Russian Navy is actually fleeing from Crimea to Novorossiysk. Therefore, this is the determination of the United States to change the stalemate that General Zaluzhny wrote about,” the expert concluded.
