Deputy of the Izyum City Council Maxim Strelnik said this on the Rada TV channel, Channel 24 reports. Russians fear they will lose control of the city.
“According to our data, approximately 10,000 citizens are waiting to be evacuated because the winter season is approaching and the heat supply situation is catastrophic,” Strelnik said. .
The situation in the city
The deputy explained that leaving Izyum is possible only through joint efforts volunteers, Ukrainian government authorities and representatives of international organizations. There are no coordinated humanitarian corridors, so only a few manage to escape.
