Every year, thousands of people leave home and are lost. Among them there are those who suffer from memory problems, as well as small children. They can be helped by special bracelets with NFC technology and a QR code for personal identification. Oleg Leonov, the head of the “Training” and “Forest in touch” directions, coordinator of the “Liza Alert” search and rescue team, spoke about this.
According to him, the city should have a chance to quickly find a lost person with cognitive impairments or a child who cannot tell about himself.
“The very technology of such bracelets has been worked out, is well known and is actively used in other countries,” says Oleg Leonov. – In the capital, with the support of the city authorities, they will begin to be used in May – June. This is a silicone wristband with the same chip as in a mobile phone. Relatives can write information about a person on this chip. We will give out bracelets to people in need free of charge and we will allocate some of them for children. The service can be used by those who leave a request through the MFC. You can also get a bracelet there. In general, it will help save about 10 thousand lives a year throughout Russia. ”
The project is also supported by the Alzrus Foundation for helping people with dementia and their families.
“This bracelet is the easiest and most effective way to identify a person with memory loss that I have ever heard of,” said the President of the Alexander Shchetkin Foundation. – My family also faced such a problem when we were looking for a lost elderly aunt. It is very difficult when you do not know where a loved one is, you cannot help him. You should always be attentive to the health of your family, stay alert, even if a person with dementia appears to communicate normally. Such people can get lost instantly. And with new technologies, the chance to find them increases. “
ON A NOTE
How it works?
NFC device with QR code:
– stores on the chip important information about its owner – the last name, first name, patronymic of the person and the phones of his relatives. If necessary, this data can be read using a telephone;
– does not require recharging;
– Supported by manufacturers of modern smartphones.
If you see a disoriented person in need of help with such a bracelet, you can ask him to check the information from the chip. It is enough to bring your mobile phone to the QR code indicated on the bracelet. You can also report a person around the clock and free of charge to the operators of the hotline “Lisa Alert” – 8 (800) 700-54-52.
“Found! Alive! “
Lisa Alert Search and Rescue Squad activists have been rescuing lost people with dementia for several years. To this end, a social project “Safety Island” was launched, aimed at returning people. The program operates in all stores of the Pyaterochka and Vkusville chains, in branches of Sberbank. The staff here are trained by Lisa Alert to recognize a disoriented person. He is asked a “marker” question, and if the answer is alarming, then a store or bank employee will call on a special phone. Further, the search engines will help the lost person. And the long-awaited “Found! Alive! “
