A bomb found on a German train

In the German city of Cologne, police found an improvised explosive device. It was in a train carriage at the depot. This was reported by RBC with reference to the local newspaper Bild and the WDR TV channel.

The train janitor was the first to notice the bomb: he saw a cardboard box containing the device. The man reported the find to the police, and sappers arrived at the scene and defused the explosives. According to them, the homemade bomb consisted of nails, screws and gunpowder.

TASS journalists, citing the DPA news agency, noted that the discovered explosive device did not pose a serious danger and could not be detonated.

Cologne police also checked all 27 trains that were at that time in the depot. However, no other explosive devices were found by law enforcement officials.

In early September 2020, the Russian FSB showed footage of the arrest of 13 Russians suspected of preparing attacks on schools, police stations and crowded places. Four ready-made explosive devices and weapons were seized from the detainees.
