Doctor of the Moscow Region hospital Svetlana Malinovskaya announced new strange symptoms of COVID-19. The infectious disease doctor Malinovskaya described the new symptomatology using the example of patients of the Vidnovskaya RCH, reports MK.
According to the doctor, sufferers tend to bang their heads against walls, scratch their skin, and become hysterical if left alone. In addition, they are prone to panic attacks, lose their memory, withdraw into themselves, become aggressive and refuse treatment.
In the memory of the expert, more than 30 people have already inflicted injuries on themselves – they beat their heads against the wall, scratched their skin.
“The mental lesions in COVID-19 are sometimes so extensive that the patient can go against his own instincts, the main of which is the instinct of self-preservation,” said Malinovskaya.
According to her observations, the patients of the covid department withdraw into themselves and refuse treatment. Sometimes they perceive medical manipulations as hostile actions. They are characterized by panic attacks. Such patients actually go into hysterics if the doctor is absent from them even for a short time. Some do not remember how and why they ended up in the covid compartment. Attacks of uncontrollable anger also occur, patients try to harm themselves and others.
Doctors believe that patients' depression is exacerbated by oxygen deficiency, general weakness and negative information flow about COVID-19. At Oxford University, the data of more than 50 thousand patients were studied. After recovery, one in five suffered from insomnia and depression, and one in eight had suicidal thoughts.
