In Transcarpathia, a 24-year-old guy beat a regional council deputy with a metal stick. For this he faces up to seven years in prison.
The incident took place at the end of November in the town of Tyachiv. Under the procedural guidance of the prosecutor's office, the attacker was informed of the suspicion. The pre-trial investigation continues.
A planned attack
According to the investigation, the suspect was preparing to attack a local deputy (his name was not disclosed).
< p> On the evening of November 18, he went out into the street wearing a mask and armed with a metal truncheon.
The guy waited until the deputy was left alone, and without a word knocked him down and hit him on the head and body. In a matter of minutes, the attacker fled the scene of the incident: random passers-by called an ambulance for the victim.
At the hospital, the deputy was diagnosed with a closed head injury and other minor injuries.

At the request of doctors, the police opened criminal proceedings. After some time, law enforcement officers reached out to the alleged attacker.
With the forceful support of the KORD fighters, he was detained, and the investigators conducted an authorized search in the house.
& # 8212; A club was withdrawn, which, probably, was the instrument of the crime. Also withdrawn a revolver and other equipment, which will be investigated by an expert, & # 8212; reported in the police.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 4 of Article 296 (Hooliganism with causing bodily harm). The sanction of the article provides for a punishment of imprisonment for a term of three to seven years.
The 24-year-old boy could not explain the motives for the attack on the deputy of the district council. All circumstances are being established.
