As it became known, the tragedy occurred on the night of July 16 on a rural road near the city of Neubrandenburg in the federal state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
The 19-year-old Ukrainian was driving a van with Polish license plates. He initially lost control, drove off the road and crashed into a tree.
“Obviously, the young man accelerated very quickly on a straight and level road at night. The driver died on the spot, the car cannot be restored. The guy lived permanently in Saxony,” the publication writes.
