91-Year-Old Billionaire Dies Two Months After Marrying Sixth Wife — Photo

Austrian billionaire Richard Lugner, who was actively looking for a bride last year, died at the age of 91, two months after marrying sixth wife.

Agence France Presse reports this.

The founder and owner of the construction company passed away on Monday, August 12, at his villa in Vienna.

Lugner was born in Vienna on October 11, 1932, and after graduating from the Federal Technical and Commercial College, he specialized in construction. In 1975, he built the first and largest mosque of the Vienna Islamic Center, and 10 years later – the Lugner City shopping center.

The eccentric man was a fixture of Viennese high society. Lugner often made headlines, including being criticized for his sexist remarks.

He is also known for inviting some of the world's most famous stars to the Vienna Opera Ball, including Kim Kardashian, Pamela Anderson, and most recently Priscilla Presley. Other guests included Sophia Loren, Paris Hilton, Jane Fonda, Jerry Galliwell and Joan Collins.

Lugner first entered politics in the late 1990s and won almost 10 percent of the vote in 1998 votes in the presidential election. In 2016, he ran for president for the second time, but finished in last place with just over two percent.

Lugner, who has four children, has reportedly suffered from a number of health issues in recent years, including undergoing surgery.

The entrepreneur recently married his sixth wife, 42-year-old Simone Rylander. The wedding took place in Vienna a few months ago.
