The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued an order to test pressure sensors on all Boeing 737 aircraft on all airlines. This was reported by Reuters. According to the regulator, some airlines have talked about malfunctions of such sensors. Sensors (according to FAA rules, there should be two of them) signal an increase in pressure in the cockpit, which can lead to hypoxia and loss of consciousness.
The requirement applies to 9 thousand aircraft worldwide, including 2.5 thousand aircraft registered in the United States.
