430,000 ING customers have to look for a new bank

ING CEO Barbaros Uygun

Starting this year, ING Bank intends to concentrate exclusively on corporate customers in Austria. The company parted with 430,000 private customers.

Let's put it this way: Barbaros Uygun, CEO of ING in Austria, managed the surprise: The Dutch ING Bank announced yesterday that it would withdraw from the private customer business in Austria this year. She wants to concentrate fully on corporate customers. As a “relatively small player” one has “reached the limits of growth in a saturated market”, Uygun explains the decision.

What that means for the 550,000 private customers: In June the company parted ways with 430,000 pure savers who only have one savings account. You will be contacted in April. How things will go on with the 120,000 borrowers, current account and deposit account holders is open. A sale of the division is possible.
