The officers were patrolling the market area and intervened in the situation with the man. When they were about to interrogate him, shots were fired in their direction. The police were forced to use their service weapons, but the attackers still fled in an unknown direction.

As a result of the incident, a random passerby was wounded. The victim was taken to the hospital, where he received medical assistance. The 57-year-old man was wounded in the leg, his life was not in danger. From that moment, law enforcement officers began searching for suspects.

First, a 38-year-old Ukrainian citizen was detained, and a few days later, a 45-year-old Tajik national fell into the hands of law enforcement officers.

The Warsaw-Wola District Prosecutor's Office charged both men with an active attack on police officers of the Intelligence and Patrol Department by jointly and coordinated use of firearms during their intervention. The court, at the request of the prosecutor, decided to apply temporary arrest to the suspects for a period of three months. The men face up to 10 years in prison.
