Bundesliga relegated SKN St. Pölten has made a classic false start in the 2nd soccer league. After the defeat against Liefering on Friday, the Lower Austrians also lost the game after the first round against the two-man team from Rapid with 1: 2 (1: 0) on Tuesday evening in Wiener Neustadt. In the table, St. Pölten is in 13th place with zero points after two match days, while the Hütteldorfer hold eighth place with four points.
Ex-Rapidler Deni Alar, who switched to SKN in the summer, brought St. Pölten into the lead in rainy conditions with a solid shot from the edge of the penalty area (11th). However, a double strike from Bernhard Zimmermann (63rd) and Denis Bosnjak (65th) turned the game in favor of the guests.
The match should have been played on July 23, but had to be postponed due to the poor condition of the lawn in the NV Arena and was therefore now played in Wiener Neustadt.
