The 2022 Paralympic Games ran from 4 to 13 March. According to the final medal standings, the Ukrainian team took second place .
In general, the country received 29 medals , of which 11 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze.
Only China is ahead of Ukraine, it has 61 medals (11 gold, 20 silver and 23 bronze).
Canada came in third with 25 medals.
The top five also included France with 12 victories, as well as Italy – 7 prizes.
As a result of the competition, Ukraine has updated the record for the number of awards received throughout the entire period of the Paralympic Games. For all the time of participation in the competition, Ukrainian Paralympic athletes have not received so many awards.
Among the victories this year are the gold of Alexandra Konovalova and the bronze of Irina Bui in the middle distance freestyle ski race (standing class), the bronze of Dmitry Suyarko in the middle distance race (class of athletes with visual impairment).
Despite the war in Ukraine, Ukrainian athletes managed to gather strength and prove themselves at international competitions.
