German Chancellor Olaf Scholz commented on granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of EU candidate members.
The German leader welcomed Ukraine and Moldova to the European family.
Scholszn wrote his congratulatory message on Twitter .
“Yes 27 times! Congratulations to Ukraine and Moldova. The European Council welcomes the two new candidate countries for EU membership. To good cooperation in the European family!” wrote the head of the German government.

Recall that on June 23, 2022, the European Council at the summit of EU leaders in Brussels decided to give Ukraine the status of a candidate member of the EU.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted to the granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership, noting that June 23 is a unique and historic moment for Ukraine. And he added that Ukraine had been waiting for this decision for 120 days and 30 years.
