Many countries have proposed the idea of a ceasefire, but no one thinks about what this means.
The initiative of some countries to establish a ceasefire regime with the further prospect of starting peace negotiations means for Ukraine leaving the temporarily occupied territories under the control of the Russian Federation regions.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Turkey Vasyl Bodnar said this in an interview with Euronews.
The ambassador commented on the ceasefire initiative, saying that “25% of Ukraine's territory remains under Russian control,” and the Russian Federation “is buying time to strengthen its forces, strengthen its capabilities and resume attacks on Ukraine.”
He also stressed that countering the Russian occupation consists primarily of protecting Ukraine's territorial integrity within the framework of international law, stating that any other proposal for a solution should not be taken into consideration.
He also noted that Ukraine's vision of establishing peace is, first and foremost, the withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukrainian territories.
The diplomat also noted the importance of Ukraine joining NATO to ensure its own security in the future, as well as joining the European Union.
Recall that TSN.ua has already pointed to a KIIS poll, which shows that 55% of Ukrainians are against any territorial concessions, even if the war continues longer.
Meanwhile, details of the negotiations on a fair peace for Ukraine in China have become known.
