French President Emmanuel Macron commented on the reaction of Muslims to his speech, in which he denounced the crisis of Islam and criticized the quality of the integration of visiting Muslims into French society. On Saturday, October 31, RIA Novosti reports.
Macron said he understands the feelings of Muslims in connection with the publication of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, stressing that the French authorities are not behind this. “This comes from a free and independent media that is not affiliated with the government,” he said.
According to him, the reason for the violent reaction of Muslims to his speech was “the distortion of his speech and the misunderstanding that he is a supporter of these cartoons.”
The French leader is sure that the followers of Islam suffer most from the actions of those who pervert the essence of this religion. “There are people who distort Islam and, on behalf of this religion, call to protect it,” he said.
On October 30, Russian mixed-style (MMA) fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov addressed Muslims. He considered that under the slogan of freedom of speech, Macron offends the feelings of all Muslim believers. The athlete was supported by some Russian MMA fighters.
Several armed attacks had taken place in France a day earlier. The attacks followed Macron's speech on the crisis in Islam. The reason for the president's speech was the assassination of school teacher Samuel Pati. His head was cut off because he showed his disciples cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
On the evening of October 29, about fifty guys of Turkish origin broke into the church of St. Anthony of Padua in Vienna. With shouts of “Allahu Akbar!” hooligans smashed everything that came to hand, smashed shops and church utensils in the font and the confessional. The priests called the police, but the Islamists fled before they arrived. However, cameras captured their atrocities.
The police believe that the attack was planned and carried out by a group of Islamist fanatics, in the area where the church is located, they have already attracted the attention of law enforcement agencies. Ten people, who not for the first time come to the attention of the police for various violations, have already been identified. It is true that they will be paid for it, they have not yet announced.
The church has been closed away from sin. And Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz wrote on Twitter that this case will not leave like that:
Against the background of an attack on a church in Nice, where three people became victims of an Islamic fanatic, Austria escaped with slight fright. However, who can guarantee that this is the last such case? ..

Research carried out by scientists from Sweden and Spain is published on the website of the University of Basel (Switzerland). It notes that a previously unknown species has been identified in workers employed in agriculture.
The new species was named 20A.EU1, and it is with its spread, experts say, that the second wave of the pandemic is associated, which has swept European countries this fall. The virus began to spread back in the summer, and today it accounts for a significant proportion of new cases of coronavirus infection. Unfortunately, the quarantine measures that were taken were not enough to contain the pandemic, experts say. They recall that travel restrictions have been eased in the summer. And many people relaxed and forgot about social distancing.
In Europe alone, hundreds of variants of the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus are now in circulation. Each differs from each other by small mutations in the genetic structure. But only a few of these varieties have become as common as 20A.EU1. This variant has been found in 20 European countries, as well as Hong Kong and New Zealand.

On the island of Samos affected by the earthquake, an emergency regime was introduced for six months
On the Greek island of Samos, a state of emergency was declared for six months due to an earthquake. This is necessary to eliminate the destructive consequences, as it simplifies decision-making, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the General Secretariat of Civil Protection.
“By the order of the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management and the decision of the Secretary General of Civil Protection, the municipalities of East and West Samos have been declared in a state of emergency,” the statement said.
Recall that a powerful earthquake occurred in the Aegean Sea on October 30 near the Greek island of Samos and the city of Seferihisar in the Turkish province of Izmir. Seismologists in Greece have estimated its magnitude at 6.9.
We will not abandon enterprises experiencing difficulties through no fault of their own, to the mercy of fate, the German Chancellor assured. In Germany, over the past day, more than 19 thousand people have become infected with the coronavirus.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel has assured the economy of continued support amid the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic. “We will not leave companies and businesses that are experiencing problems through no fault of their own due to the current crisis. We want to help quickly and without bureaucracy,” she said in a weekly video message to citizens, released Saturday, October 31.
Merkel announced her intention to allocate 10 billion euros to support industries that will be affected by additional measures to combat coronavirus introduced on November 2. “This significantly exceeds the existing assistance programs and also covers the cultural sector,” the Federal Chancellor said, noting that she will meet with leaders of employers' and industry unions next week to discuss ways to “further mitigate the crisis.”
“I assure you: the federal government will continue to do everything necessary to limit the damage from the pandemic to the economy, and thus to jobs and our well-being, and at the same time – to protect the health of all of us,” the German Chancellor emphasized.
At the same time, Merkel has again defended the tightening of measures to combat the coronavirus. “The second wave of the pandemic is forcing us to act quickly and consistently. We must stop the rapid increase in infections without overwhelming our health system,” she explained, warning that “the coming winter will be difficult.”
According to the Robert Koch Institute, another 19,059 people have become infected with the coronavirus in Germany over the past 24 hours. The number of deaths reached 10 452.

Israeli lawmakers rejected a bill to replace the words “father” and “mother” with the terms “parent 1” and “parent 2” in official documents.
At the same time, the victory of the adherents of traditional terms cannot be called unconditional: 48 deputies spoke out against the changes, 25 supported them, deputies from the Kahol-Lavan alliance abstained from voting.
There are 120 deputies in the Israeli parliament (Knesset).
The bill was presented by Knesset Member Yoray Arziano Laav, a member of the Yesh Atid Party. The clarification to the document says that the purpose of the legislative initiative is to display various forms of family relations in the country, as well as to help citizens who “feel discomfort” when faced with terms in questionnaires that do not correspond to their understanding of the family unit.
Last year, Israel discussed such changes in official documents, but faced with rejection and massive protests from citizens, they were forced to abandon this idea.
