2,000-year-old artifacts found in Jerusalem
In Jerusalem, archaeologists have found the oldest artifacts. Among them is the mikvah. This is reported by the press service of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
Excavations were carried out in the area of the Garden of Gethsemane. Researchers managed to unearth a mikvah. The age of the vessel used in the ablution ritual is about two thousand years. Mikvah met in everyday life during the period of Christ's stay.
In addition, archaeologists have discovered the ruins of the temple. Presumably, it was built in the 6th century A.D.
Earlier, at the foot of the Mount of Olives in Gethsemane, the remains of a ritual bath dating from the beginning of our era were unearthed.
