A real shivering game for the LASK. The Upper Austrians qualified for the Conference League with a 2-0 win over St. Johnstone.
After the 1-1 draw a week ago in Klagenfurt, the Stahlstädter beat the Scottish representatives with a late 2-0 away win with a total score of 3-1. Dominik Thalhammer's team made it into the group stage of the newly created Conference League.
Husein Balic succeeded in the relieving 1-0 lead in the 72nd minute. After a Stanglpass from Florian Flecker, the wing racer had shot in powerfully. Marko Raguz increased from the penalty spot to 2-0 in the 84th minute. David Wotherspoon after an elbow check against Flecker (76th) and Shaun Rooney after the emergency brake before the penalty kicked off with red.
In contrast to the first duel, the Linzers had better adjusted to the robust game of the Scots. Hyun-Seok Hong (4th, 56th), Peter Michorl (48th) and Balic by volley (64th) had missed the relieving opening goal of the Upper Austrians.
The Scots had gotten stronger in the second run. Jan Boller had blocked Glenn Middleton's conclusion in the 67th minute, two minutes later Alexander Schlager was on the post for Middleton's graduation (69th).
After the two LASK hits and the evictions, the resistance of the bravely fighting Scots was broken.
