Hoffenheim returns to the start of the tenth round of the Bundesliga, celebrating a 2-0 home win against Hertha in Berlin.
Andrej Kramaric (19th) and Sebastian Rudy (36th) had met for the Kraichbauer, for whom Stefan Posch and Florian Grillitsch were in the starting lineup, Christoph Baumgartner was substituted on after surviving corona infection in the 77th minute.
Sebastian Hoeneß's team returned to the road to success after the 4-0 defeat against Bayern. Hoffenheim moved up to seventh place in the table, at least temporarily. Hertha slipped to eleventh place.
In a brisk initial phase, Angelo Stiller on the part of the hosts (5th) and Marco Richter in Herthan's dress (7th) missed the early lead. At the end of the Berlin kicker, Hoffenheim goalkeeper Oliver Baumann distinguished himself with a brilliant act.
Kramaric made it better, shot the hosts in the lead in the 19th minute and used a pass from Robert Skov that Ihlas Bebou had let through to make it 1-0. Rudy was spot on in the 36th minute, dusting a Skov cracker on the right pole to make it 2-0.
Berlin goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow, who scratched a Skov header off the line (31st), prevented a clearer lead by the hosts. After a counterattack in the 49th minute, Bebou shot Niklas Stark who was also running.
The Berlin team took control of the game in the second round, cheering in the 72nd minute about the alleged follow-up goal by Myziane Maolida. The goal did not count after an offside position. And only four minutes later the guests weakened themselves, Captain Dedryck Boyata looked after after a kick against Stiller Rot. The video referee had to intervene. In numerical outnumbered, the Berliners could no longer add, Hoffenheim played the victory easily over time.
