Reconstruction of outdoor lighting began on the Field of Mars in St. Petersburg. It is planned to install 130 modern lighting fixtures there.
New lanterns will appear on the green territory of the Champ de Mars and along the facade of the Pavlovsky Life Guards Regiment building. The lighting fixtures will be made in the same style as those existing now, according to the office of the vice-governor Sergei Dregval.
Thanks to the renovation, the territory will receive more uniform lighting, according to Smolny.
Now there are 104 lighting poles installed on the Champ de Mars. These are 94 floor lamps with white shades in the alleys and 10 poles of the last century with 20 lamps on the sidewalk and along the roadway at the facades of buildings.
By the end of 2021, it is planned to restore 16 floor lamps in St. Petersburg at the “Fighters of the Revolution” memorial. These lamps were originally designed for the Annunciation Bridge in 1849. In 1934 they were transferred to the Field of Mars.
In May, “DP” wrote that Petersburgers planted almost 200 lilac bushes on the Field of Mars. The event was held within the framework of the “Garden of Memory” action, timed to coincide with the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
The activists worked under the guidance of specialists from the gardening enterprise, who prepared the sites for planting, lilac seedlings and the necessary equipment.
