As of the morning of March 22, 2022, 117 children have already died due to the war in Ukraine, and more than 155 have received various injuries.
This was reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Children suffered the most in Kiev – 58, Kharkiv – 40, Chernihiv – 31, Donetsk – 30, Mykolaiv – 24, the city of Kyiv – 16, Zhytomyr – 15, Kherson – 15 and Sumy – 14 regions.
So, in the Kharkov region, an enemy tank shot a car in which a family with two children was traveling. The family shouted that they were civilians, waved a white flag, but in vain. Parents and a 9-year-old girl died, a 17-year-old boy was injured.
In the village of Konstantinovka, Nikolaev region, on the territory of the Southern Bug, Russian troops fired at houses, under the rubble of which they found the burnt bodies of three people, including 7- summer child.
On March 21, the enemy fired on evacuation buses with children from Mariupol. Four children were hospitalized. Three children came under fire in the Pologovsky district of the Zaporozhye region, another child – in the village of Kamenskoye. The two children are currently in critical condition.
In addition, enemy bombing and shelling damaged 548 educational institutions, 72 of which are completely destroyed. Most of all damaged in Donetsk, Kharkov, Nikolaev, Sumy, Kiev, Kherson, Chernihiv regions and in Kyiv. More than 40 institutions for children were also destroyed, including medical schools, art schools, sports facilities, libraries.
The Office of the Prosecutor General emphasizes that these data are approximate, because due to the high intensity of hostilities it is difficult to inspect places shelling.
